Maybelline White Superfresh Compact – Shell Review

My views:
A compact is an oily skinned girl’s best friend. A good compact effectively keeps oil at bay. I have been using Maybelline White Superfresh Compact for a while now (during winter as well as summer) and I’m loving this product.

The packaging is quite good. The case contains a mirror and a powder puff. However, I prefer using a powder brush to gently tap on the product on my skin. This compact gives a light coverage which is buildable. You can layer this compact more than two times for a medium coverage.

Maybelline White Superfresh Compact is available in only three shades i.e. Pearl, Shell & Coral. Pearl is more suited for those having very fair skin with pink undertones. Shell is the one that matches my skin very well as it has yellow/warm undertones and will suit fair – medium skin tones. Coral is meant for those with medium – dark skin tones.

This compact brightens up my complexion giving a nice fresh look. UV filters are not enough though. I would have preferred some SPF atleast. Anyway, I always use a sunscreen before stepping out.

My skin remains oil free for a good 5-6 hours during winter and around 4 hours during summer. Since my skin turns very oily during summer, I prefer ‘baking’ my makeup. This method keeps my skin oil free for a good 6 hours during summer. I’m sure you must have heard of this makeup trend. First I use lots of baby powder under the eye area and the contours of my cheeks. Then I wait for around 10-15 minutes so that my body heat ‘cooks’ up my makeup. Next, I take a medium sized powder brush and gently swirl it in this compact and then I dust off the baby powder. This procedure gives a nice natural look as baby powder alone leaves a very white finish on my skin.

At a price tag of just 150/- INR, this product is worth a try. I might re-purchase this compact. I am disappointed with the missing ingredient list.

Rating: I would rate this product 4/5
