Lotus Herbals Ecostay Nourishing Foundation SPF 20 – Royal Ivory Review

I have been using Lotus Herbals Ecostay Nourishing Foundation in shade Royal Ivory for the last five months but totally forgot to review it earlier. So finally here are my thoughts on this foundation.

Price: 595 INR for 30 ml

My views:

Firstly, this foundation has a pump bottle packaging. Unfortunately the nozzle stands exposed without any cover so I prefer storing the bottle in its original carton; that way the nozzle at least remains covered up. Overall the bottle is light weight and can be carried around easily. Just make sure you retain the outer packaging.

Lotus Herbals Ecostay Nourishing Foundation is a bit difficult to blend on my skin so I prefer mixing it up with a moisturizer. It gives a dewy finish and not a matte finish maybe because I mix it with a moisturizer. Gradually in around three hours or so my skin turns oily and I need to use blotting tissues to get rid of excess oil. The coverage is pretty decent but I prefer using a concealer over dark spots before applying this foundation for better coverage. The finish is natural and does not give an artificial look to my skin.

As far as the staying power is concerned, this foundation lasts for around 4-5 hours on my oily skin. It may hold up better on normal skin. It doesn’t oxidize either.

I like the fact that this foundation has SPF 20. I don’t go out in the sun much so this is enough for me. If I have to travel a lot then I use a sunscreen before applying this foundation. In order to set the foundation I use Lotus Herbals Purestay Long Lasting Face Powder which also contains SPF 20.

Another thing to be noted is that this foundation transfers easily onto clothes, mobile phone, handkerchief, anything that comes in contact with your face! This is really annoying.

Overall, Lotus Herbals Ecostay Nourishing Foundation is a decent product. It did not break me out. Another thing that bothers me is that a complete ingredient list is not provided. As a customer I feel I have every right to know what ingredients go into my skin.

Pros:
1. Cost effective
2. Contains SPF 20
3. Does not oxidize
4. Decent coverage
5. Decent staying power
6. Did not break me out

Cons:
1. Difficult to blend
2. Transfers easily
3. No ingredient list
4. Unhygienic pump packaging

Rating: I would rate this product 3/5
