Plum Chamomile & White Tea Range Review

Plum recently sent me their latest launch for review and here are my brief thoughts on their new range of products.

The entire set is available for purchase here, at a price tag of 999/- INR. You can also buy the products individually according to your need.

Chamomile & White Tea Skin Revival Face Wash

Price: 350/- INR for 75 ml

Claims, Directions, Ingredients:

My views:

This face wash is packaged in a tube having a flip-top cap which shuts firmly and can be easily carried around.

This face wash has a refreshing fragrance. It contains soft, natural cellulose beads which help in gentle exfoliation.

The face wash contains wonderful ingredients like soothing chamomile, rejuvenating white tea and antioxidant-rich botanical extracts which revive the skin that is exposed to the sun.
A coin sized amount of this face wash lathers well and gently washes away all the dirt. My skin feels squeaky clean after using this face wash. I use this product before I start my skin care routine and after I come home at the end of the day. I first use a cleanser to remove my makeup and then finish my routine with this face wash.
This face wash is ideal for cleansing the skin after sun exposure. I have oily skin which is not acne prone. It did not dry out my skin but I wouldn’t recommend it for dry skin and very oily skin. This face wash is perfect for normal and combination skin. The product will last long as a little goes a long way. I would have preferred a 100 ml bottle for the price tag of 350/- INR.

Chamomile & White Tea Calming Antioxidant Toner

Price: 380/- INR for 200 ml

Claims, Directions, Ingredients:

My views:
The toner is packaged in a sturdy plastic bottle. It has a similar fragrance as that of the face wash. It is colourless and has a watery consistency. It is a gentle toner for everyday use before and after sun exposure.

As per Plum, using a toner after face wash not only helps the skin settle down well before apply SPF, it is also a wonderful way to feed nutrients to the skin. This toner is filled with antioxidants from 7 different plant sources to help calm, revive and protect the skin from the effects of oxidative damage.

This toner does not feel sticky on my skin at all. After I dab on the toner with a piece of cotton, I allow the product to dry up completely from my skin before I use a moisturizer/sunscreen.
This toner is ideal for normal and combination skin. If you have oily skin (like mine) but not prone to frequent breakouts, then you can give this range a try. This 200 ml bottle will go a long way as you need a few drops of this toner at a time.

Chamomile & White Tea Sheer Matte Day Cream SPF 50

Price: 520/- INR for 60 ml

Claims, Directions, Ingredients:

My views:
The sunscreen is packaged in a tube having a flip-top cap. The fragrance is not bothersome at all.

Upon application of this cream, you will notice that it does not leave a white cast like most of the other sunscreen products.  Plum claims that their specially created micro-emulsion formula helps distribute the sunscreen more evenly over the skin resulting in a smooth, matte effect without a white cast. I just love the matte finish as I crave for an oil free skin during summer. It also gets absorbed quickly unlike other sunscreens.

The main reason I used to dread using a sunscreen was because my skin used to sweat immediately upon application. But this sunscreen from Plum does not make my skin sweat that much. I noticed slight droplets of sweat only above my lip area. That’s it. I am in love with this sunscreen. I live in Goa which is a coastal area which means higher humidity and still this product does not make my face sweaty.
A little goes a long way. You do not need too much of this cream so use it properly. If you use more than the required amount then your skin will tend to sweat. Also it is important to wait for at least 15-20 minutes after apply the sunscreen before you step out.
My skin stayed matte for around five hours in this extreme heat and I’m happy with this result. My foundation glides on smoothly over this product. You can use this sunscreen as a makeup base. This cream is a 'saviour' for combination and oily skin.
I like the fact that it contains a high SPF. Some sunscreen products tend to make your skin look dull but this one doesn’t. My skin remains the same and I cannot even feel that I have put on a sunscreen as it is lighweight.
In my opinion, this is the ‘star’ product from this range.

In conclusion, this is the only skin care set you will need to get through the scorching Indian summer. This range is ideal for normal and combination skin. Like I said before, if you have oily skin which is not prone to breakouts then you can give this range a try. These products did not clog my pores.

All Plum products are free from parabens, phthalates, Sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), Diethanolamine (DEA) and Para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA). The products are 100% vegan and are not tested on animals.

  2. Plum Goodness claims their products to be SLS free and their facewash contains SLES and foams quite well. Somehow I don't understand this logic :(

    2. Hey,

Yes, I know the difference. But don't you feel if the easily available SLES is used either the price of facewash should be decreased or the quantity increased?
